Dr. Peter Young grew up in Harrison, New Jersey.  He attended Hastings College where he earned his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology.  He suffered from football injuries in both high school and college and discovered that Chiropractic care was the only method that helped him.  He made the decision to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2007.  While there he was given the honor of receiving the Cleveland Chiropractic Clinical Excellence Award.  Dr. Young was also one of the few selected from his class to to work both at the Kansas City Veterans Hospital and Truman Medical Center, allowing him the opportunity to practice an integrated approach to patient care.   His personal and professional philosophy is to provide such a service that allows the body to heal itself as god intended and created our bodies to do.  He also feels it is of upmost importance to educate the community on proper health, to be proactive and allow people to take control of their own health through natural means.

Dr. Young is an experienced Chiropractor who uses multiple techniques in treating his patients while finding the underlying cause of the injury or pain.  He focuses on both the spine as well as the muscles in obtaining optimal results.  Dr. Young is one of the few Practitioners in the Omaha metro that is certified in the Graston Technique, which is used to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

In his free time Dr. Young enjoys lifting weights, watching movies and spending time with his wife, Karen and their four children; Collin, Kalynn, Alexa and Preston.

Thomas Morehead, Jr., D.C.

My journey to becoming a chiropractor started on West I80 on the way to see my Huskers dominate another football game. This was when the State Troopers use to drive in the middle of the interstate to break up the massive flow of traffic. I was rear ended by another vehicle when everyone slowed down except for the driver behind me. I of course made it to the football game but the next day it felt as if I had a knife in my back. I had a wrestling injury in high school and a physical therapist helped me out so I could at least medal in the state competitions. I was taking classes to become a physical therapist, so I decide to get treatment for my neck and back. After three months of treatment and no pain relief with my low back, the PT told me there was nothing she could do for my back pain. A friend of mine suggested a Chiropractor. I was not sure what a Chiropractor was but I was definitely willing to give it a try. After just two treatments my back felt amazing and within two months I was taking a campus tour of Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. I was amazed at the concept of Chiropractic and the ability to affect someone’s overall health with just my hands. I made my decision that a Chiropractor is what I was going to be and was enrolled six months later.

I not only have my dream career but my dream family. I met my wife, Stephanie, in Kansas when we were both in the ninth grade. We were both military brats and our fathers were stationed at Fort Riley. We had the typical military lives; I would stay at one place for a couple years and move. Our fathers were both re-stationed in 1989, hers to North Carolina and mine to Germany. That is the definition of a long distance relationship and this was when there was no internet, only very expensive long distance calls. We both went on to have separate lives until fate brought us back together in 2009. We have two wonderful boys, a 5 year old Jayce, an 10 year old Ian and a 19 year old girl, Veronica. Jayce is a miniature Hulk and I think he runs the house now. Ian is in the fifth grade and excellent football player and a Minecraft aficionado. Veronica is now out of high school and looking forward to starting college.

We spend as much time together as a family as we can. This involves hiking, camping, riding our bikes, playing sports and of course watching Husker sports. I am also a wanna-be gardener. I love planting peppers, peas, tomatoes, corn and flowers, etc. This of course leads to my own occasional aches and pains. This is why I follow the same advice I give my patients and get adjusted monthly. Not only is Chiropractic amazing for pain relief, it is even better for overall health.

I am Clinic Director at Young Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. I have extensive experience in caring for spinal related issues. These range from trauma related cases as a result of auto accidents and sports injuries (running, cycling, bowling, wresting, boating, hiking, baseball, football, etc.) to headaches, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel, hip, knee & foot injuries. I figured out early in Chiropractic College that in order to treat the entire injury I wanted more training in muscle and soft tissue treatments than my school was providing. I choose ART and I am now full body & nerve entrapment certified in Active Release Techniques (ART), which most consider the "Gold Standard" in soft tissue therapies. This accompanied with my comprehensive post doctoral education allows me to treat both the simple and complicated cases. I have also received certification by the New York Department of Education, Board for Chiropractic, by having attained post doctoral education in MRI interpretation, Spinal Biomechanical Engineering, Impairment Ratings, triaging the injured, caring for the trauma patient. I am member of the Academy of Chiropractic. This is a national medical research organization that provides the latest research on the diagnosis and treatment of spinal related conditions. This allows me to offer the latest techniques based upon peer reviewed research when caring for my patients, while also drawing from 12 years of practice experience.

Enough about me! If you have been in a car accident, sustained an injury or just want to be healthier. Give me a call to schedule an appointment and begin care today.

Testimonials

Called at 9:13 a.m., was in the office at 11:00 a.m.- awesome timing for a first time patient. I will admit that I was leery that they could get me in that fast. I was expecting an office with little to no activity, and I was wrong. Office was in full swing, with everyone coming and going. I was really surprised that they got me in, on top of assisting other clients.

Dr. Young was descriptive with the process, what he will do to treat, and different treatment scenario's.

Very much recommend.
